God’s great love…
There was a time when I did not know how much God really loved me.
I guess I thought that God loved his children based on their accomplishments (in certain areas) and/or their behavior. I suppose that I measured his love for me based on how my accomplishments and behavior measured up to others. Does that make any sense?
But I came to understand that God created me and he loved me before I even came into existence. Before I was even born God loved me. His love for me never had anything to do with my behavior or my accomplishments. He made me to be a special creation and God would not create a child that he did not love.
Has anyone else ever felt this way or a similar way? That God’s love for us depended on our performance and behavior. But if that scenario were true and God loved me when he created me, does that mean that his love for me diminishes if my behavior is not perfect or my accomplishments not great enough?
That just cannot be true… God loves me today as much as he did when he created me. Not because of what I have done but because God is who he is. And God is Love. Read the Bible verse below several times and think about this today. What kind of love is this that you will never see the end of it?
Verse for the Day!
- Ephesians 3:18-19 The Living Bible
“and may you be able to feel and understand, as all God’s children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high his love really is; and to experience this love for yourselves, though it is so great that you will never see the end of it or fully know or understand it. And so at last you will be filled up with God himself.”
My hope for you today is that you come to know the one and only true God that is love. And God is Love….
