Thankful – Easy Flour Sack Towel Craft

I decided to make some really easy and simple flour sack towels for Thanksgiving. I bought these flour sack towels from Walmart. They come in packs of six and twelve, I believe. I like to use these because they are so large.

I gathered some leaves from outside and I already had the alphabet stencils from Walmart. They did not cost much and they are reusable.

It was the paint colors that I was not really sure about, but I started getting stares from the other shoppers so I decided to use oranges and browns with a hint of blue and get from the heck out of the craft section. I have this thing about Wall-Mart. Once I am there I feel like I should look at everything, just in case I forgot something!

I am going to stencil the word Thankful at the bottom of the towel and then use the leaves to stamp on paint in some of the same colors above the words. This was a very easy project but a little time consuming depending on how many you need to make. These would also make sweet gifts.

Just a simple, easy project!

You will need:

  1. Flour Sack Towels
  2. Alphabet stencils
  3. Craft paint
  4. Leaves

These did not come out as well as I thought they would.  I was in a hurry and did not take the time that I needed but here they are.  Would be a good craft for teenagers to help little ones with while you are working on the Thanksgiving meal. See pics below.
