Easy Spaghetti Recipe

Easy Spaghetti Recipe

My family loves spaghetti and I found a quick and easy way to make it.  I start with a base of Ragu’ Garden Combination Sauce and add to that.  Easy recipe below.

2 lbs. hamburger meat (can use ground deer meat)

1 medium onion

1 small green pepper (bell pepper)

dried basil leaves

dried oregano leaves

powdered garlic

1 bay leaf

Ragu’ Sauce mentioned above

Cook hamburger meat, onion, bell pepper, basil leaves and oregano leaves in skillet until meat is well done.

While I am cooking the hamburger meat, I heat the Ragu’ Sauce in a stock pot.  When hamburger meat is ready, drain off grease and add to Ragu’ Sauce along with bay leaf.  Simmer covered for about 15 minutes, then simmer uncovered another 15 minutes.  I usually start cooking my noodles while this is simmering so that they are ready when sauce mixture is ready.

I really don’t measure my spices but I like a lot of flavor. You might want to start with a teaspoon of basil, oregano, and garlic and add more if needed.

I usually serve my spaghetti with cornbread and turnip greens in the winter and garlic bread and green salad in summer.

If you can make this ahead of time it is really better the next day. Enjoy!
