- Psalms 61: 1-2 The Living Bible (Paraphrased)
“O God, Listen to me! Hear my prayer! 2 For wherever I am, though far away at the ends of the earth, I will cry to you for help. When my heart is faint and overwhelmed, lead me to the mighty, towering Rock of safety.”
It is so easy in today’s world to become overwhelmed with life. We live in a world where so much is constantly striving for our attention. The world is certainly fast-paced. Our jobs, homes, children and spouses all need and require our attention but at the end or (beginning) of the day it can be exhausting.
I have been there myself. I remember starting many mornings already feeling exhausted. If you can see yourself in this article, write down the verse above and keep it close to you today.
- If you are in an office working put the verse somewhere on your desk where your eyes can view it during the day.
- If your home is your workplace tape the verse on the refrigerator or on one of the kitchen cabinets or on your desk in your home office .
- If you are a student tape the verse to your binder or laptop.
The point is to have the verse accessible so your eyes will view it during the day and your thoughts will go to it throughout the day.
God knows if you are overwhelmed, but taking your concerns to him in prayer is important. As you pray to God see him as your Rock of safety. He can give you rest and He can give you peace.
